Obituary

Helen Coggins Sease passed away on June 1 2011 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. June 3 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church in Columbia with interment at 4 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church in Gilbert S.C. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. June 2 2011 at Dunbar Funeral Home Dutch Fork Chapel in Irmo. Born January 28 1925 in Greenville she was the daughter of the late James Albert and Sallie Hargrove Coggins. She was a graduate of the Greenville public schools and S.C. Baptist School of Nursing Class of 1946. She was a private duty nurse for several years and had retired from the Department of Mental Health in 1986. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church Women of the E.L.C.A. and a Sunday school teacher and a member of the S.C. State Employees Association and S.C. Nurses Association. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was an avid Gamecock fan who enjoyed going to all sporting events. She enjoyed being with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Harva Ray Sease Sr.; daughter Cynthia Sease Lominack and her husband Bobby of Newberry; son Harva Ray Sease Jr. of Columbia; grandchildren William Lominack (Fran) Jennie Lominack McCollums (Patrick) Karen Sease Katherine Sease; three great-grandchildren Jacob Grace and Nathan Lominack; brothers Bobby and James Coggins both of Greenville; former daughter-in-law Ann Sease of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Kyle Fred Clayton and Carlos Coggins.
