Obituary

Helen Kinard Rish 91 of Little Mountain baptized child of God departed this life March 29 2012 after several years of illness. The visitation was from 6:00 - 7:30 PM on Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapin. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday April 1 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Tholstrup. Interment did follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Rish was born December 19 1920 in Anderson County SC. She was the daughter of the late George Washington Kinard and Mary Black Kinard. She was the wife of the late Edgar Lee Rish She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she was also a member of Primetimers. Mrs. Rish was a great cook and well known for her sweet potato pie. Her favorite activities included quilting gardening and working in her yard. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Kay and Hugh Jones of Little Mountain Ann and James Hornsby of Irmo and Betty and Jennings McCartha of Chapin; sons and daughters- in-law Bill and Loretta Rish of Little Mountain Doug and Linda Rish of Newberry and Danny and Annette Rish of Little Mountain; grandchildren Nathan (Susan) Rish Melody Minor Billie Sue (Wayne) Moore Steve Jones Jason (Melinda) Jones Sherry (Joey) David Kristy Rish Julie (Derek) Underwood Tracy (Michael) Bundrick Amber Rish Katelyn Rish Scott (Tanya) McCartha and Renee (Chris) Doyle; great-grandchildren Kendall and Tyler Bundrick Brooke and Bailey Underwood Audrey Doyle Kody Jones Caitlin Bullard Kaylee Jones Nichole Moore Jessica McElveen Christopher Morris and Zachary Rish; and sister Attrice Thomas of Little Mountain. . In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a sister Janie Schumpert; and brothers Jack Kinard Furman Kinard Clarence Kinard Roy Kinard and J.C. Kinard. Pallbearers were Derek Underwood Ricky Kinard Steve Jones Jason Jones Scott McCartha and Michael Bundrick.
