Henrietta Perry Shealy, 101, of Newberry, died Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
Born on April 12, 1921 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late James Henry and Lucy Toll Perry.
Mrs. Shealy was a lifetime member of Central United Methodist Church where she volunteered her time and talents on numerous committees including the RSVP group. She was also active in her community, working the voter polls for elections, participating in Needle Arts clubs, and founding the Senior Walkers group at Newberry High School.
She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Newberry High School. She enjoyed basketweaving, sewing, the outdoors, yardwork and traveling. But above all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Shealy is survived by her daughter, Judy Dominick (Bill) of Charlotte, NC; son, Larry Shealy (Sandy) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Greg Dominick (Cindy), Stacy Lyons, Kristin Bolick, Kim Collier, and Derek Shealy (Alissa); and great-grandchildren, Brandon Shealy (Shelley), Andrew Lyons (Kayla), Zakary Bolick, Merrily Lyons (Zach Opdenaker), Shealy Dominick, Emma Lyons, Cecelia Dominick, Edie Dominick, and Bryce Shealy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, S.L. "Toot" Shealy, Jr.; her siblings, Kathryn Riley, Thomas Perry, Jonelle Rinehart, James Perry, and Betty Ruth Epting; and her grandson-in-law, Thomas Collier.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Joe Long, at 2:30 PM Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church, 1005 College St., Newberry, SC 29108.
