Henry Owens Dailey, 101, of Irmo died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his residence.
Born on November 26, 1916 in Richland County, he was a son of the late Sidney Clarance and Lula Sites Dailey.
Mr. Dailey was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving in the Pacific during World War II. He was employed for many years with J.A. Metze & Sons and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Irmo.
A hard worker throughout his life, he also spent time farming, raising beef cattle and enjoying gardening.
Mr. Dailey is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lyla Chapman Dailey; sons, Colin Merritt Dailey (Jeannie), Walton Hoyt Dailey (Charlotte) and Orvis Wayne Dailey all of Irmo; grandchildren, Shannon Dailey, Jamie Dailey, Christon Dailey and Walt Dailey; and a great grandchild, Shayna Slicer (Will).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, James Duane Dailey, sisters, Reba Ellisor (Frank), Nina Alcorn (Walter), Carrie Richardson (Walter), Sara Shealy (Greer), Ruby Derrick (Page), Olive Dailey; and a brother, James Dailey (Jahala).

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Irmo with Vicar John Derrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the services.
