Henry Edwin "Ed" Nichols, 70, of Manning, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Atlanta, GA after a lengthy illness.
Born in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Henry H. and Mabel Cromley Nichols. He was a proud graduate of Clemson University, Class of 1969.
Ed was an agricultural consultant for Helena Chemical Co. He was appreciated by colleagues and farmers alike. He was also an avid outdoors man with great passion for the natural environment.
Ed was a great father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Shelley and Andrew Rogers of Decatur, GA and Carla and Derek Kurdupski of Florence; siblings and their spouses, Kay and Joseph Mueller of Johns Creek and Dr. J Wade and Paula Nichols of Garden City; grandchildren, Wesley Thompson (Taylor), Kayla Thompson, Nathan Rogers, and Leila Rogers; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Silverstreet Lutheran Church in Silverstreet, SC conducted by the Rev. J. Harry Crout and the Rev. Arden Hallman. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Burdell, Dick Forrest, Henry Forrest, Jimmy Forrest, Joe Forrest, Memmus Forrest, and Luther Long.
