Funeral services for Homer Landis Smith 88 were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 17 2012 at Pisgah Lutheran Church. The family ddl receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday April 16 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Pisgah Lutheran Church 1350 Pisgah Church Road Lexington SC 29072. Mr. Smith was born October 9 1923 in Lexington SC and passed away on Saturday April 14 2012. He was the son of the late J. Leroy Smith and Sue Sharpe. Mr. Smith was a member of Pisgah Lutheran Church where he was a former Sunday School Superintendant and Church Council Member. He was a Mason and a WWII Veteran. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter Carolyn Smith Franklin (Bill) of Irmo SC; his son Marion Clark Shealy (Judy) of Knoxville TN; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Smith was predeceased by his wife Catherine Smith; sister Grace Hicks and brother John Smith. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
