Hope Ashford Parente formerly Hope Ashford McCluskey of Chapin South Carolina entered into eternal rest on October 31st 2015. She was 41. A mass to celebrate the life of Hope Ashford Parente will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Chapin SC. on Wednesday November 4th at 11am. Visitation with the family will also be at Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday November 3rd following the recitation of the Rosary at 6pm until 9pm. All are welcome to attend. A celebration of life will be held in Perry County at Christ Lutheran Church West High Street New Bloomfield PA on Saturday November 7th. Family will receive friends from 10am until time of service at noon. There will also be a Pittsburgh 'Celebration of Life' on Saturday November 14th at 4pm at Aspinwall Riverfront Park 285 River Ave Pittsburgh PA 15215. All are welcome to attend. Hope was born on August 6th 1974 in York Pa. to her parents Kathryn (formerly Kathryn Mitchel) and David McCluskey. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Asian Studies. She married David Anthony Parente in 2002. The Parentes lived in Aspinwall Pa where Hope relished in the role of full-time Mom to their four children; sharing with them her incredible knowledge of all things; especially nature culture and her love for animals. Hope also loved traveling and both studied and lived abroad in Japan and also visited most of Asia.In 2012 the Parentes moved to Chapin SC where they would quickly build an army of friends from Church and the community who became their angels and a second family. Hope was the eldest of five children and was known for her generosity intelligence and above all her kindness to everyone and everything. Hope will be remembered by all who loved her for inspiring beauty and creativity in the life of everyone she encountered; especially her children husband family and friends. Hope is survived by her adoring husband David Anthony Parente; two sons Domenico Vance and Henry David Parente; and her two daughters Indigo Jean and Mae Ana Parente. Her parents David and Kathryn McCluskey of Elliottsburg PA; her mother-in-law Patricia (Hoolahan) Parente of Gibsonia PA; her brother David Vance McCluskey and his wife Erin McCluskey; and her three sisters Jennifer (McCluskey) Zakis and husband Kevin Zakis; Jill (McCluskey) Quaker and husband T.J. Quaker all of Perry County PA; and Grace McCluskey of Lewisburg PA; her sisters-in-law Lynn Ferro Susan Parente and Maria Parente; her brothers-in-law Mike Parente and Phil Ferro; as well as 14 nieces and nephews of whom she adored. Hope was also loved by her Aunts Uncles and many cousins who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Vance and Jean Mitchel; and her paternal grandparents Robert and Jean McCluskey and her father-in-law Anthony David Parente. The family also extends their gratitude to the Doctors Nurses and all of the medical staff at Lexington Medical Center West Columbia SC; especially her beloved Dr. Steven Madden who watched over her like angels during her 3 1/2 year battle with breast cancer.
