Obituary

Hoyt A.Cromer, 81, of Newberry died on Thursday, October 31, 2019. Born on February 8, 1938 in Newberry, he was a son of the late William Alston and Lois Johnson Cromer. Mr. Cromer was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was retired from Mack Trucks, Inc. and held membership in Amity Masonic Lodge #87 and the Hejaz Shrine Temple. Riding his motorcycle was his passion. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Mary Lenora Dominick Cromer; son, William Alston "Billy" Cromer (Sandy) of Newberry; grandchildren, Bartley and Bethany Cromer; and siblings, Robert Cromer of Little Mountain and Lois Ellen Counts of Atlanta, GA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Velma Tolbert and William Cary Cromer. Visitation will be Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Whitaker Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. David Surrett. Burial will follow in Baxter Cemetery.
