Ingrid Maxwell Carr 68 of 197 Harbor View Dr. Prosperity SC died Saturday December 22 2012 at her residence. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 PM Thursday Dec. 27 2012 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Interment was at 4:00 PM Thursday at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Columbia. The family did receive friends at the church fellowship hall from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM prior to the service. Mrs. Carr was born on Sept. 12 1944 in Freiburg/Breisgau Germany a daughter of the late Wilhelm Eugen and Else Wellenreuther Willig. She was a retired systems analyst for the State of S.C and was a very active member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church and the Thomas Suber Circle of the WELCA. Mrs. Carr loved singing and was an active participant with the Arpad Darazs Singers and the Newberry Community Choir She volunteered her time at Gallman Elementary School and as an Ombudsman with the Friendly Visitor Program at local nursing homes. She is survived by her husband of twenty-two years Byron Carr of the home; daughters Patti (Andy) McConnell of Jenison MI and Debbi Minton of Lexington; step-daughter DebiLynn Carr of Arlington VA; sons Bill Maxwell of Monroe LA Robert (Shannon) Maxwell of Lexington; step-son Byron Carr Jr. of Florence; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Bill Maxwell. Pallbearers will be the members of the Thomas Suber Circle.
