Irma Harmon Perry 84 of 2110 Adelaide St. Newberry died Monday April 25 2011 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home Newberry. Born on November 16 1926 in Newberry she was a daughter of the late R. Dupre and Lillie Mae Mack Harmon. Mrs. Perry was an active member of Central United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Newberry Chapter #226 Order of the Eastern Star where she was Past Matron; a Past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of the S.C. Order of Eastern Star; a member of American Legion Auxiliary #24 and the S.C. National Guard Auxiliary; a former member of Al Ansar Temple #117; and a member of Daughters of the Nile the Drayton Rutherford Chapter #152 and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She is survived by her husband James D. Jim Perry ; son and daughter-in-law Richard W. Ricky and Jacqueline Jackie Lathrop Perry of Newberry; grandchildren Andrew Richard Drew and wife Kathleen P. Katie Perry of Newberry and Nicole Renay Nikki Perry and fiance Michael Hughes of Newberry; two great grandchildren Dakota and Bristol Perry; sisters Claudia Harmon Clary of Newberry Margaret Harmon Hendrix and husband J. Richard of Prosperity and Denise Harmon Cates and husband Richard of Prosperity; brother-in-law Talmadge Ellisor of Newberry and sisters-in law Buncie Harmon Townsend of Jekyll Island GA and Betty Harmon of Newberry . In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Irene Harmon Ellisor brothers Billy Gerald Harmon and Jimmy Lee Harmon and brother-in-law Clarence Clary. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday at Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Karen Radcliffe. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family was at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Perry 1180 Hillbrook Lane Newberry and did receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Active pallbearers were Greg Clary Russell Hendrix Wayne Ellisor Gerry Harmon Ray Wilson Perry Riley Larry Shealy and Alan Davenport. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Order of the Eastern Star.
