Irwin Goings Smith 85 of 1629 First Street Newberry widow of Victor R. Smith Sr. died Wednesday October 15 2003 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.Mrs. Smith was born on September 15 1918 in Newberry a daughter of the late Daniel B. and Victoria Rivers Goings. She was retired from the Oakland Plant Kendall Company and a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church.Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter Judith S. Johnson of Jacksonville NC; a son Ray Smith Jr. of Newberry; a sister Yvonne Amick of West Columbia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Graveside funeral services for Irwin G. Smith will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Friday at Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. Walter Green.Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the Whitaker Funeral Home.
