J. Wayne Cartrette 64 of 1230 Glenn St. Newberry died Wednesday June 29 2005 at his residence.Mr. Cartrette was born on September 20 1940 in McColl a son of the late John T. and Maude Culley Cartrette. He was a member of the Newberry A. R. Presbyterian Church and attended the Aveleigh Presbyterian Church. He retired as a letter carrier from the Newberry U. S. Post Office after 36 years of service.Mr. Cartrette is survived by his wife Joan Willingham Cartrette of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Angela C. and Robert Summer of Newberry; and son John Wayne Cartrette Jr. of Hilton Head Island; two grandchildren Kelly Summer and Cheyenne Summer of Newberry; three nieces Debbie Cartrette Sandy Skerl both of Pawley's Island and Sheryl Brewer of Las Vegas NV; and three nephews Kimbal Cartrette of Pheonix AZ James Cartrette Jr. of Ziconia NC and Steve Cartrette of McColl. He was predeceased by a brother James Cartrette. Funeral services was conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. Mike R. Beggs.
