Jack Carter, 84, of Chester, SC passed away on February 29, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. Born March 16, 1939 in Newberry, SC he was the son of the late Gladys Carter. He was predeceased by his wife Vickie Gregory Carter.

Jack spent his career in Textile Management with Newberry Mills, Tennessee Textiles, and Springs Industries. He retired from Springs Industries after 21 years with the company.

Jack was a man of many interests. He discovered a love for golf after retirement. He was known as an excellent dancer and continued to go out dancing through age 80. He was a member of VFW Post 2889. He and his wife loved the beach and spent many summers tanning on the beach in Destin, Florida as well as other local beaches. He was an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and attended many games at home and at nearly all of the away locations at one time or another. He was especially proud of the accomplishments of Dawn Staley and was a huge fan of hers.

Jack is survived by two sons, Michael Kevin Carter (Kimberly) of Green Cove Springs, Florida and Brian Neal Carter of Rock Hill, SC; eight grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Jack dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and his love and support was unwavering.

A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18 and burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery, Newberry, SC.
