Obituary

Jack Dewayne Slover, age 64 of Prosperity, died Thursday May 11, 2023 at his home on the lake, a place he loved to be. Born December 24, 1958 in Knoxville, TN, he was a son of the late Tommy Lee and Helen Easterday Slover. He was married for 8 years to his best friend, Denise Slover.

Jack loved the outdoors. Living on Lake Murray full-time was a dream come true and a well-earned reward for he and Denise upon retirement. He liked fishing, but more so enjoyed just being out on the boat, riding around and exploring the lake and spending time with friends at Fiddler Blues. Jack was a giving and outgoing person with a great sense of humor who loved to laugh and aggravate in fun. He never met a stranger and was always smiling.

Jack was also committed to his career with the Jim Ellis Automotive Group. He retired in 2021 after 37 years of service as a manager in the parts departments of several dealerships, and then his last years in the Jim Ellis Collision Center.

In addition to his wife, Denise, he is survived by his aunt Dot Lee of Matthews, NC; uncle Jerry Easterday of Knoxville, TN; cousin Richard Kasper (Erin) of Atlanta, GA; and numerous special friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Gina Baldwin.

A drop-in event to celebrate Jack's life has been planned for Monday, May 22, 2023, 1:00-3:00 PM with a remembrance toast at 2:00 PM, at Fiddler Blues on Lake Murray, 3644 Prosperity HWY, Prosperity, SC 29127.

The family wishes to thank Lexington Medical Center, Coronary Care and Amedisys Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care Jack received.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org. This was an organization that was important to Jack.
