Jacob Earl Lindler 78 was born in Little Mountain to the late Daniel Evans Lindler and Carrie Lucille Eargle Lindler on May 23 1935. . He was married to his wife of 55 years Margie Cannon Lindler and was the proud Pop to sons Kenneth wife Libby and Aubrey wife Lisa. Completing Papas family were grandchildren Kristina Cody Matthew and Jesse; sisters Rebecca Lindler and Martha Lindler; nephew John (Karen) Lindler and niece Ruth Lindler. Earl was self-employed for many years as a farmer later joining Cannon Construction Company and finally retiring from Newberry County Public Works as a heavy machinery operator. He served in the SC National Guard. He was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church Chapin where he served in many positions during his life. Earl was graduated from Little Mountain High School and received more education from the school of hard knocks. He was known for his large vegetable gardens where he planted enough for the whole community. He loved sharing his gardens bounty. Also he counted as family his in-laws Evelyn and Wayne Stoudemire Sadie and Tommy Benton and Wayne and Jennie Cannon. His favorite pastime was fishing with his Friday morning fishing buddies Wayne and Tommy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Haskell and John Lindler; sister Mary Wilson; nephew David Lindler; sister-in-law Gwen Lindler and brother-in-law George Wilson. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday February 26 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Interment did follow in the church cemetery. The family did receive friends following the committal service. Honorary pallbearers were members of St. Peter Primetimers.
