Jacob Lee Amick 82 of Prosperity died Wednesday November 21 2012 at Springfield Place. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday November 24 2012 at Wightman United Methodist Church. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 5:30 to 7:00 PM Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry. Born on April 261930 in Prosperity he was the son of the late Clinton and Elberta Lindler Amick. Mr. Amick was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Owens Illinois and Georgia Pacific. He was a member of Wightman United Methodist Church and the Francis Asbury Sunday School Class. Mr. Amick enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved fishing. Mr. Amick is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Drs. Angelynne and Daniel McMullan of Birmingham AL; grandchildren Daniel Ryan McMullan and Laura Shealy McMullan both of Birmingham AL; sister Mae Miller of Newberry; brothers David Amick of Newberry Henry Amick George Amick Harvey Amick and Charles Amick all of Prosperity; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years Faye Shealy Amick; and sisters Mildred Longshore and Lucille Dominick.
