James C. "Jim" Leagan 68 of Pomaria died Sunday March 28 2010 at Providence HospitalBorn in Greenwood on June 27 1941 he was the son of the late Doris Morris and L.C. Leagan Jr. Mr. Leagan was retired from the South Carolina Department of Social Services. He was a 1963 graduate of the University of South Carolina and a member of the Fort Jackson Masonic Lodge.He is survived by his wife Lena Werts Leagan; his children James C. "Clete" Leagan Jr. of Merritt Island Florida and Leanne Livingston and her companion Jeff Byrd of Prosperity; his granddaughter Katie Cox and her husband Chad Cox of Beaufort.Funeral services were conducted at 11:30 AM Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry. Interment was in Pomaria Community CemeteryVisitation was from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M Tuesday prior to the service at Whitaker Funeral Home.Memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice.
