James Robin Foy "Robin", 73, of Lexington, died on Tuesday evening, December 29, 2020.
Born in Newberry, South Carolina on April 3, 1947; he was a son of the late James William "JW" and Helen Koon Foy.
Robin grew up in Newberry and graduated from Newberry High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University and worked for both the SC Department of Agriculture and SC DHEC.
Robin was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart & Bronze Star for his military service.
Without a doubt, Robin was a "family man" who enjoyed sharing life with his family, including his granddogs, and friends. He was always ready for time at Edisto beach. Robin had a fondness for fishing, kayaking, cigars, scotch, reading, cooking and a plethora of other activities.
He loved his church Saxe Gotha Presbyterian in Lexington. He was very service oriented and was greatly involved in missions of service through the church, as well as outside of the church. His way of life was one of sharing - sharing with others.
Survivors include his children, Neil Robin Foy and wife Therese of Lexington and Cassie Rae Foy of Gaston; sister, Nancy F. Bedenbaugh and husband Lewis of Prosperity; grandchildren, Kellen and Coby Foy both of Lexington; niece, Tyla Bedenbaugh Bowers and husband Craig and their children, Laban and Brooks Bowers, all of Prosperity.
Robin and his family ask that you honor him by "Paying it Forward" …choose a way of doing something kind for others and in lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
