James "Ray" Moore, 66, of Chappells, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 21, 1952 in Union, he was a son of the late Jasper Moore and Betty Ann Moates.
Ray enjoyed making jewelry, fishing, and archery.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Harris Moore; children, James Ray Moore, II (Mary) of Bowling Green, KY, Christopher Paul Moore (Gwen) of Savannah, GA, William McKinney (LouAnn) of Saluda, Clint McKinney (Nan) of Batesburg, Susan Foster (Leonard) of Prosperity, and Brandi Escobar (Selvin) of Gray Court; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Darlene Foster (Clifford) of Prosperity, Michael Moore (Alice) of Weaverville, NC, Judy Ann Zweig (Theo) of Edgefield, Ruth Chrisco (Everett) of Trenton, Barbara Jean Brown of Saluda, and William Earl Moates (Kim) of Newberry; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Jerry Eugene Moore and Mary Frances Moore; and a great-granddaughter, Adalynn Marie Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Claude Calloway, Dale Storm, and special friend and neighbor, Mr. Willy.
