James Ray Jim King 69 of Newberry SC died Saturday May 30 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Albert Allen. Visitation will be on Monday from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the residence 12160 SC Highway 121 Newberry. Jim was born in Newberry SC on June 27 1945 a son of the late James W. and Jenell Stockman King. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era was an Ordained Southern Baptist minister and was a retired accountant for AgFirst Farm Credit Bank. He was a member of the First Baptist Church the 50 Plus Fellowship and the Friends in Faith Sunday School Class. Also he was a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina a true NASCAR fan and an avid collector of old coins and Coke memorabilia. Jim loved to travel across the U.S. but most importantly he was a loving family man who especially loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Debbie Briggs Lindsey King of the home; children Robbie King (Claudette) of Lexington and Joyce Eargle (Earl) of Irmo; step-children Ryan Lindsey of Mooresville NC and Renee Lindsey Mowder of Prosperity; grandchildren Ryan and Cory King Brittany and Jessica Eargle Jacob & Phillip Woodruff Kayla Lindsey Jeremy Stanley and Joshua Dean; and Great grandchildren Jaxon Lankford and Anthony Price. He was predeceased by his brothers Fred Steve and Michael King.
