James Robert J.R. Longshore 83 of 5238 Crowder Road Kinards widower of Elizabeth C. Longshore died Tuesday June 12 2012 at the Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 16 2012 at Bush River Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian Preston. Interment with military honors was in the church cemetery. He was born on May 27 1929 in Newberry County a son of the late James Robert and Virgin Manley Longshore. Mr. Longshore was a member of Bush River Baptist Church. He was the retired owner of J. R. Longshore and Sons and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Longshore is survived by his children and spouses Joan Longshore (Ray) Worthington Harold Michael Longshore and James Robert Longshore Jr. all of Kinards; grandchildren Brenda (Tommy) McCracken Brandy (Tim) Cutshall Danielle Waldrop Courtney Longshore John Worthington and Tanner Worthington; great-grandson Lucas McCracken; sisters Mary Lou Copeland of Laurens Media Timmerman of Williston Carrie Lee Mahoney of California and Ann Mazucca of Nevada; brothers Joe Wesson and Thomas Longshore of Newberry; and special friend Annette A. West. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a sister Frances Longshore and a brother Ralph Longshore. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the home.
