Obituary

Surrounded by family at home our beloved Jim passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 21 2012. Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm on Sunday March 25 2012 at Chapin Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Tim Hanley and Rev. Philip Blankenship. The family did receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the church prior to the service. A graveside service was held on Monday March 26 2012 at 1:00 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island officiated by Pastor Mike Moore. James Wilson Beasley was born August 18 1943 in Charleston SC to the late Woodrow Wilson Beasley and Gladys Clark Beasley. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of South Carolina where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and completed a Masters in Business Administration from Appalachian State University. Jim was a Lieutenant in the US Army serving in Viet Nam. He was an elder and devoted member of James Island Christian Church. Jim was a past president of the Rotary Club of St. Johns Parish a past member of James Island Constituent School Board and an active member of Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International. He retired from Nationwide Insurance Company where he was the owner of The Beasley Agency on James Island. Jim and his wife relocated to Lake Murray in 2005. Jim had a tremendous passion for boating and was designated Captain a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer. He was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan. But what he cherished most was sharing his love of the Lord with his family and friends. A perpetual optimist with a wonderful sense of humor Jim counseled everyone he met and left a legacy of believers in the Lord. He went about his life doing good. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Mary Ann Beasley; his stepson David Alosi and wife Radhika and granddaughter Ashley all of Toronto; brothers John Beasley (Tutti) and Joe Beasley (Donna) of Charleston; mother-in-law Ruth Stockdell of Chapin; brothers-in-law Bill Stockdell and John Stockdell of Chapin; sisters-in-law Sue Moesley (Jerry) of Cross Hill and Ruthie Conner (Greg) of Myrtle Beach; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made in Jims name to Chapin Presbyterian Church 600 Old Lexington Hwy. Chapin 29036 or Blaney Baptist Church PO Box 305 Elgin SC 29045.
