Jane P. Bushey Lopez, 76, of Newberry died Monday, June 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 21, 1944 in Floral City, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Bushey and Ruth Corbett Bushey Reid. Jane worked in the offices of Winn Dixie for many years and later in the offices of Towson Orthopedic Associates in Maryland. However, her most treasured roles were being a wife and mother. To know Jane was to love Jane. She was naturally drawn to people, and never met a stranger. Often referred to as "Janey", she was an incredibly devoted friend and was thought of as a "second mom" by all of her daughter's friends. Always genuine, giving and funny; she was adored by everyone. She loved drawing, photography and dancing. Jane collected and nurtured many houseplants throughout the years, talking to them daily to help them flourish. She was an animal lover with a lifelong passion for horses. Jane lived life well and made sure every person around her knew how much she cared for them by showering them with "I love you" and lots of hugs. Everyone who knew her loved her. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John Raymond Lopez; their daughter, Lindy Jane Rosin and husband Lucas, of Greenville; grandson, Matteo Rosin; sister, Grace Brazil and husband Dr. W.O. Brazil, of Asheville; sister-in-law, Patti Garelli of Newberry; numerous loving cousins and nephews; and her beloved dog, Ariel.
