Janet Monts Adams, 97, of Prosperity died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge.
Born in Lexington County, she was the only daughter of the late Arthur C. and Jessie Lindler Monts and was married to the late Alvin Adams. She was an U.S. Army veteran of WW II serving in the 69th WAC Hospital Company and was a retired employee of General Electric.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church, the Netta Amick Circle of WELCA, Macedonia Goldies, the Adult Sunday School Class and the C.E. Gems.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Betty Monts of Chapin and Little Mountain and Lib Adams of Columbia.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Claude, George, J.C., Willard and Charles Monts.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:00 PM Tuesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry conducted by Rev. Randall Derrick.
Burial with military honors will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chip Adams, Doug Adams, Ken McDougal, Ryan Fellers, Kenneth Monts, and Paul Brown.
