Janet Carol Buril, 75, of Lexington, died on September 19, 2020 at her residence. Born on November 16, 1944 in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late George and Doris Shore Carvalho. Janet was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. She was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College and had worked as a house mother at the Babcock Center. Her interests were varied. She was an avid reader especially enjoying Stephen King novels. Some favorite entertainments were watching TV movies and TV history and documentary specials. She had fun doing crafts and had a particular fondness and love for animals. The Carolina Panthers and NY Yankees were her favorite sports teams. Survivors include her children, Kristin Dee Tucker (Tim) of Lexington, Ronnie "Poncho" Harmon (Katrina) of Valdese, NC and David Smart (Heather) of Morganton, NC; a sister, Barbara Page of Newton, NC; grandchildren, Hannah Coleman (Carson), Brook Harmon, Jessie, Emma and Brittny Smart; a great grandchild, Emmitt Coleman; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Joan Youngblood and Ronnie Carvalho. Graveside Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Thursday, September 24 in Newberry Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Beau Bradberry.
