Janet Elizabeth Reynolds, age 69, formerly of Newberry, died January 11, 2023 in Covington, GA.

Born November 4, 1953 in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Ervin Lamar Reynolds, Sr. and Catherine Spence Reynolds.

She grew up the youngest child, part of a mill hill family that loved each other and always found ways to enjoy simple times. She would later work in the West End Mill before becoming a homemaker and raising her own family. After her children were grown, she became a certified nursing assistant and worked in a nursing home.

In her younger years, Janet was always full of laughs, enjoying playing jokes and finding reasons to laugh and have fun. Her nieces and nephews were always so excited to spend the night with Aunt Jane, because she would cut up with them and make them laugh.

She was a loving and giving person, always looking for ways to help others, especially if it meant having an opportunity to feed someone who was hungry. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandbabies who were at the center of her heart. She is loved and will be sincerely missed.

Janet is survived by her longtime companion, James Clark, daughter, Trina Pendergrass, and son Wayne Dorn, all of Covington, GA; step-daughter, Stacey Longshore, and step-son, David Longshore, both of Newberry; sister, Faye Dixon, and brother, Ervin "E.L." Reynolds (Mary Catherine), of Newberry; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonya Renee Clark; sisters, Hilda Walkup and Therisa Crowder; and brothers, Robert and Ronald Reynolds.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
