Jean Lunde Vengraitis, 85 years old, died on Monday, March 1, 2021 at her residence in Chapin, SC. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Ivar and Borghild Gunderson Lunde. Jean was a thoughtful and loving woman who appreciated life and every occasion to share life events with others. She made friends easily and had a classic sense of humor which she maintained throughout her lifetime. Her home in the Pocono Mountains was a favorite place. She adored the people and the opportunity to observe the wild animals. She equally enjoyed spending time on Lake Murray. Jean treasured her family and lovingly shared her affection with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Anthony "Tony" Vengraitis; her children, Linda Shanabrook (Jed) and Lisa Anderson (Michael) all of Chapin, Arthur Jensen (Mari) of Lexington, and Christine Butler (Deane) of Penn Yan, NY; her brother Norman Lunde of N.C.; grandchildren, Erik, Denise, Jeanne, Kirk, Kyle, Jason, Mark, and Samantha; and great grandchildren Alek, Derek, Astrid, Anja, and Rowan. She is also survived by stepchildren, Anthony Vengraitis, Jr. of Edison, NJ and Mary Thayer (Evan) of Chapin; step grandchildren, Chris, Sam, Stephen, and Catherine; sister-in-law, Joan Gunter of Barnegat, NJ; brother-in-law, Joseph Vengraitis (Cynthia) of Maplewood, NJ; and her unique cat, Lilly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, James Jensen. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
