Jeannie Virginia Ashe Martin 65 of 127 Ridge Lake Dr. Manning died Tuesday March 20 2012 at Hospice of Charleston. She was born on November 3 1946 in Greenville SC a daughter of the late Miriam Johnston and Vernon W. Ashe Sr. Jeannie was a mathematics educator and was a member of the SC Teachers of Mathematics the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the SC Leaders of Mathematics Education. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Spartanburg. She is survived by her husband of 44 years George Caughman Martin; sons and daughters-in-law Jason H. and Elizabeth Pendarvis Martin of Summerville and Brian D. and Jennifer Fronzcek Martin of Columbia SC; and grandchildren Elizabeth Martin Ashlyn Martin Anna Martin Charlotte Martin and Cecilia Martin. Funeral services were conducted at 6:00 P.M. Saturday March 24 at St. Johns Lutheran Church Spartanburg by the Rev. Michael Shackelford. Interment was in the church Columbarium. The family did receive friends at the church prior to the service at 4:30 pm.
