Jenell Stockman King 89 formerly of Hwy 121 Newberry died Sunday September 25 2011 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home. She was born on September 11 1922 in Prosperity SC to the late Sebern and Marie Mills Stockman. Mrs. King was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Prosperity. Jenell loved to get dressed up and go to church. She enjoyed wearing bright colors and loved her jewelry. Survivors include sons James R. King (Debbie) of Newberry and Stephen E. King (Linda) of Colorado Springs CO; sisters Earlene Cotney of Newberry and Narvis Lindler of Prosperity; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband James William King and two sons Fred William King and Michael Eugene King. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Wako Cotney and Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family was at the home of James and Debbie King 12160 SC Hwy 121 Newberry and did receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry. Pallbearers were the Deacons of Bethel Baptist Church. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association 3223 Sunset Blvd Suite 100 West Columbia SC 29169.
