Jerry L. Greene, 87, of Prosperity, died, Monday, March 13, 2017 at his residence. Born on April 25, 1929, he was a son of the late Obid A. and Beaulah Satterfield Greene Mr. Greene retired from Bell South after 36 years of service. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and fisherman. But most of all, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Julia Noe Greene; children, Sue Corbett and husband, Mike of Williamston, Larry Greene and wife, Donna, and Denise Long and husband, Luther of Newberry; brother, Larry Greene and wife, Mildred of Spartanburg; 6 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Newberry Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Rodney Gunter.
