Joan Dominick Butehorn 63 of Spartanburg died Wednesday November 24 2010 at Summit Hills after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born December 18 1946 in Newberry SC she was the daughter of the late Emory Ansel and Thelma Louise Lester Dominick. She was a graduate of Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband of forty-two years Dr. Henry F. Butehorn Jr.; two sons Dr. Henry F. (Lori) Butehorn III of Spartanburg and Jon C. (Caroline) Butehorn of Mount Pleasant; four grandchildren Henry F. Butehorn IV Sophie Nara Butehorn Darby Elizabeth Butehorn and Emory Harrison Butehorn; two brothers Terry Donald (Jill) Dominick and Alfred Von Dominick of Newberry; two nephews Tyler and Trey Dominick of Newberry; and an aunt Joyce Johnson of La Grange GA. A Celebration of Life service was held at 1:00 PM Saturday November 27 2010 at St. Johns Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Mike Shackelford. Private inurnment was in the Church Columbarium.
