J. Charles Epting, 79, died Friday, July 22, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Epting was born on Oct. 23, 1936 in Newberry County, a son of the late Homer O. Epting, Sr. and Reba Fulmer Epting. He was a retired employee of Weisz Graphics in Chapin, where he worked as a graphic artist. "What God takes away from us, he replaces with something special". Charles graduated from the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind. He was a talented artist, which he used in his professional work. He loved to be in the outdoors and was a faithful member of the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind Alumni Association. Mr. Epting is survived by his wife, Lessie Skipper Epting; his brother, Jerry P. Epting (Joyce) of Jacksonville, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Homer Ollie Epting, Jr. Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday Aug. 1, 2016 at the Newbery Memorial Gardens by the Reverend Brett Collins.
