John S. Frick, 71, of Little Mountain died Friday, May 8, 2026, at his home.
Born on October 17, 1954, in Little Mountain, he was the son of the late Charles Albert and Caroline Shealy Frick.
John graduated with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina, earned his Professional Engineering license, Senior Reactor Operator’s license, among many other professional accolades. Over the course of his career he worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, SCANA at VC Summer and consulted for various engineering firms. As a lifelong native of Little Mountain, he was a lifelong Holy Trinity Luthera Church, Eagle Scout and BSA Lifeguard. John was happiest at home, tending cows and working on the farm.
John was a man of many talents. He worked in land and light commercial development, built his own home, and enjoyed gardening, raising bees, as well as many other projects. He possessed a love of nature and doing things outside which he shared with children and grandchildren. John was proud of his family and their accomplishments. John delighted in being Papa and spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie Cumalander Frick; daughter, Carrie Frick (Matt Holbrook) of Duluth, GA; son, Adam Frick (Jennifer) of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Ezra Frick; brother, Charles Frick (Cindy); and sister, Theresa Portwood (Tony). He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Faye Frick Gaffrey.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2026, by Rev. Randy Drafts at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
John was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and had much comfort in his salvation through his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Everyone who knew him was evangelized through his words and actions.
