John J. Hull 85 of 2000 Springfield Circle Newberry SC formerly of Ellsworth Maine died Monday January 24 2011 at Lexington Medical Center. Born on June 10 1925 in Bergen County NJ he was a son of the late S. Deyo and Justina Schoonover Hull. Mr. Hull was a retired Lieutenant having served thirty years in the United States Navy. He was a veteran of World War II the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was also an avid reader. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Josephine Lipinski Hull. He is survived by his son John Hull of Elgin Il; daughters Loretta A. Hull of Driftwood TX Marjorie Huwa of Prosperity SC and Josephine Hull of Florissant CO; grandchildren Karma Lorry Thomas Kimberly Jessica Daryl J. Kristina and Edwina; and 10 great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services with military honors were held on Saturday January 29 at 12 noon at Lloyds Union Cemetery in Highland NY. The family did receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Friday at the Copeland Funeral Home New Paltz NY. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Ellsworth Public Library 20 State Street Ellsworth ME 04605.
