John Richard Lewis, Jr., born in Joanna, SC, October 22, 1941. A son of the late John Richard Lewis, Sr. and Ruby Elliott Lewis passed from this life on October 2, 2018. Mr. Lewis was retired from Shakespeare Company as Vice President of Research and Development. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Willa Rae McGowan Lewis; father of sons, Paul Richard Lewis of Chapin and Steven Christopher Lewis of Swansea; grandfather of Brittany Ashton Lewis; and great-grandfather to Jaxon River Tarallo. He is also survived by brothers, George Danny Lewis of Cairo, GA and James Edward Lewis of Gilbert; sisters, Gladys Kay Shaw of New Mexico and Susan Carol Simpson of Myrtle Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Pinelawn Memory Gardens in Clinton, SC by the Rev. Philip Vaughn.
