John Richard Ross, Jr. 63 of Newberry, died February 10, 2017 at his residence. Born April 20, 1953 in Columbia, SC, he was the only son of Eula Mae Chapman Nolff and the late John Richard Ross, Sr. John began working at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in July 1971 and retire August 2011. Besides his mother of Little Mountain, SC, he is survived by his son, Adam Hugh Ross of Little Mountain, SC; Step-mother, Marie Lane Ross of Darlington, SC; and his special aunt and uncle, Fred and Minnie Lee Shealy of Chapin, SC which were a very inspirational part of his life; and a very special lady who was just like a mother, Ms Dorather M. Schumpert. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James Adam and Eula Viola Shealy Chapman; paternal grandparents, Richard Leonard and Annie Lee Finely Ross. Memorials may be made to the Newberry County Animal Shelter, 240 Public Works Dr., Newberry, SC 29108. At his request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
