John Spearman Floyd IV age 51 of Newberry SC suddenly passed into eternal rest Monday July 26 2010. Born on October 12 1958 in Spartanburg SC he was the son of the late Dr. John and Julia Myers Floyd III. John was a well-respected produce manager throughout the Bi-Lo Corporation in the Midlands of SC. When John was not devoting his time to work he was a very dedicated and caring father who enjoyed fishing hunting camping and boating with his children. He had great pride and steadfast and unwavering love for his children. John is survived by his children: Matt Floyd of Greenville SC Tim Floyd of Midland MI Nicole Floyd of Biloxi MS and John S. Floyd of Conway SC. He is also survived by his siblings and their families: sister Charlotte (Floyd) and Dr. Steven Gaines of Columbus OH; brother Frank and Brandi (Hill) Floyd of Cayce SC; sister Julia Ann (Floyd) and John Dale of Silverstreet SC.Visitation was from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry SC.A celebration of Johns life and recognition of his passing did occur at 2:00pm on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Silverstreet SC. Interment was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. All family and friends were invited to a luncheon at the home of Wayne and Betsy (Floyd) Black in Silverstreet SC Saturday prior to the service
