IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jordan Tyler
Gwyn
August 2, 2003 – March 21, 2024
The world lost and Heaven gained one of the most charismatic and aspiring souls on March 21, 2024 - Jordan "23" Tyler Gwyn, age 20. Jordan graduated from Mid Carolina High School in 2021. Jordan was a beloved son, grandson, brother, father, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend who died due to complications stemming from a tragic accident on Thanksgiving Day, 2021. Despite facing these immense challenges, Jordan exhibited unwavering courage and resilience throughout his young life. He had a mischievous grin and was able to work his way into the heart of everyone he met.
Jordan was born on August 2, 2003 to Jennifer Gwyn, and brought immeasurable joy to those around. Jordan loved his daughter Ki'Yomi Rose along with her sister Leilani Noelle with all his heart and cherished every second he could spend with them.
Prior to his accident, Jordan was an all-round athlete, excelling in all sports from soccer to baseball, basketball, and football. He was always on the go, never sat still and was never without a friend or cousin by his side. Jordan was a big movie buff, and a huge Cleveland Browns fan, but watched all NFL games. His favorite shows were Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad, and anything with Adam Sandler.
Jordan will be remembered for his infectious smile, compassionate heart, never ending silliness and indomitable spirit. Despite his physical limitations in the last 2 years, he still touched the lives of many with his kindness and positivity just as much, if not more, than he did before the accident. His determination to overcome obstacles served as an inspiration to all who knew him and left everyone who was around him with a smile on their face every time they were around him.
Jordan is survived by his daughter KiYomi Rose, mother Jennifer Gwyn, brothers Dominic and Jacobi Millhouse, grandparents Cathy and Denny Gwyn, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins, his best friend, caregiver, and the woman who he was planning to start a new chapter of life with, Jahlia Harmon, along with friends who cherished him.
The family expresses their gratitude to his home healthcare nurses from CenterWell and SC House Calls, Mauresha, Ryan, Camilla and all who provided Jordan with care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation or Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
A celebration of Jordan's life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry with a special time of remembering at 4:00 PM. Friends and family will gather to remember and honor the beautiful life he lived.
May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
With special time of remembering at 4:00 PM.
