Josephine Beatty Gonzalez, 70, of Irmo, SC joined our Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Daughter of the late George and Marcelina Bautista Beatty, she was born on June 5, 1946 in Caloocan Rizal, Philippines, Josephine was a homemaker, a brilliant business woman and mother, driven to help the poor, creative and resourceful. Josephine, a devout Catholic and a Parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is survived by her loving husband, Teodoro L. "Ted" Gonzalez; children, Michael Gonzalez (Eileen), Michelle "Peachie" Chin (James), Michelin Cecile de Leon (Sonny), Mitchel "Jojo" Gonzalez (Jacque), Teodoro Gonzalez, Jr. (Vicki) and Mikaela Gonzalez; and her grandchildren, Miguel Gonzalez, Gary Gonzalez, Ethan Gonzalez, Nicole Chin, Kathleen Chin, Allison Chin, Gabrielle de Leon, Benjamin de Leon, Maria Gonzalez, Isabel Gonzalez, Trey Gonzalez, Rafael Gonzalez, Elizabeth Gonzalez, and soon another grandchild due in June of 2017. Josephine has joined her brother, Boy Liboon but is survived by her sister, Marilou Shaw. Her family will remember her unconditional love, her generosity, humility, kindness, selflessness and fabulous cooking. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Rosary prayers will begin at 5:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church officiated by the Rev. Fr. John F. Murray and assisted by Deacon Malcolm Skipper. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pall bearers will be members of her immediate family.
