IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Anne
Price
January 17, 1953 – April 22, 2023
Judith Anne Price, age 70, of Lexington, died peacefully on Saturday April 22, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on January 17, 1953 in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late Ellsworth Carl and Juanita Marie Soderman Pearson.
In the early 1900's, both her maternal and paternal grandparents immigrated to the United States, and Judy was proud of her Swede and Swede-Finn ancestors. Inspired by their bravery and with a desire to better know her family, she took several trips to Sweden in recent years reconnecting with family, and her death is mourned by the many cousins she met during those trips.
Judy worked as a Circulation Clerk at the C. Burr Artz Public Library in Frederick County, MD. She loved her job, her co-workers, and her patrons, who remember her as 'the smiling helpful lady at the front desk.' Prior to that, she taught at the Montessori schools in Bethesda and Darnestown, MD.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt. For many years, she drove her ice hockey playing boys and their close friends to ice rinks all over the Washington, DC area for 5:00 AM practices and games - always the cheery Mom and still their biggest fan! She was a great fantan card player and could often be found playing cards with her great-nephew.
Judy will be remembered by many - she loved talking with people and doing simple thoughtful things for others. She had a warm and beautiful smile that lit up her face when she saw you, and an infectious laugh. She was loyal, loving, and dedicated to all she did and all she loved. Judy will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, David R. Price; children, Matthew Price (Magdalena Heather) and Ryan Price both of Roanoke, VA; sister, Susan Touhsaent (Robert) of Fairport, NY; niece, Elizabeth Rose and a great-nephew, Connor Rose of Caledonia, NY.
Memorial services will be conducted by the Rev. Rebecca Wicker on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church.
The family expresses their appreciation to First Light Home Care of Lexington and Leeza's Care Connection of Irmo for their care of Judy.
Memorials are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Friends of Frederick County Public Libraries.
