Obituary

Judy Stone Epting, 83, of Newberry, SC, widow of Robert W. "Bob" Epting, died August 22, 2022. Judy was a daughter of Perry and Eula Baker Stone of Whitmire. She was a Church organist from 1967 to 2001 with Newberry AR Presbyterian Church, a piano teacher for forty-five years. She was a member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church, the Church Choir, Circle 3 of the Women of Aveleigh and the Spirit of Aveleigh Sunday School Class. She is survived by a daughter, Maribeth Epting of Columbia; a son, Warren (Lisa) Epting of Newberry; a sister Linda (Jimmy) Lominick of Whitmire; grandchildren, Clayton (Tasha) Epting and C.C. (Jessica) Epting both of Newberry; Zachary (Janna) Epting of Easley and Sarah-Beth Epting of Fort Myers, FL; Seven Great-grandchildren and One Great-Great-grandson. She was pre-deceased by her parents; brother, Claude Stone and sister, Betty Campbell. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2022 by Rev. Dr. Mitch Van Metre at Aveleigh Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Clayton Epting, C.C. Epting, Zachary Epting, Andrew Campbell, Ethan Campbell and Cole Eison. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynne Hunnicutt, Susan Dove and Clyde Brown. The family will receive guests at the residence. The family suggest memorial to the Newberry County Council on Aging, Adult Day Care, 1300 Hunt Street, Newberry, SC 29108 Memories and condolences may be shared online at whitakerfuneralhome.com.
