Obituary

Julio "Frank" Francis Vello, 90, of Chapin, South Carolina, entered eternal rest Monday morning, January 29, 2024, at the Heritage at Lowman in Chapin.

Frank was born May 14, 1933, in Watertown, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Nicola Vella and the late Domenica Maria DiCosmo Vella.

Frank was a graduate of Watertown High School and attended college earning his associate degree. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree. Frank faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He was employed for 22 years at Cogsdill Tool Company.

He was married to his devoted wife of 67 years, Ida Virginia Eckman Vello.

Frank is survived by his wife; his daughter, Susan Strain; sons, Michael Vello and David Vello. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren and his 1 great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday morning, February 22, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 195 Amicks Ferry Road, Chapin, SC.

A Committal Service will follow at 2:00 PM, Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2024, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC.
