Obituary

Kaleb Isaiah Parrish, affectionately known as "K-Bob", 23, of Chapin, South Carolina, died Friday, October 4, 2024. K-Bob was a loving and free spirit who had many friends from all over the Columbia area.

Kaleb was a Mama's boy and was extremely sentimental, tender hearted and a charmer from birth, a trait that he got honestly from his Dad. He dearly loved his twin brother, Jakson – they are one in spirit. He also had a love for all animals, but especially his late Husky, Koda, and his cats, Dexter and Peaches.

He was extremely giving, loyal and dependable to all of his family and friends and always showed up when anyone had a need - physical, financial or emotional. Kaleb would consistently share loving, positive advice and provide a shoulder to lean and cry on, even when he was also hurting.

Kaleb had many hobbies including rock collecting, knife and gun collecting, target shooting, working with his hands, rock mining, and gold prospecting. He shared a passion for collecting rare guns with his step-father Gerry, who was always there for Kaleb and taught him the importance of gun safety.

Kaleb loved being outdoors and sharing his passion for nature with everyone, especially Jakson. Kaleb was most at peace when he was fishing in the rivers or perched up high in a deer stand on a cool morning. One of the happiest days of his life was when he caught an 8lb 8oz largemouth bass on a crawfish jig in a small pond off Monticello Road. Kaleb was very proud of his catch and had it mounted to remind him of the joy he felt doing what he loved. Consistent with his giving heart, he also found great joy in teaching others how to fish.

He loved motor boats, lifted trucks, and loud music from all genres. He would often sing out loud, whatever song came to his mind, always with a smile on his face.

Kaleb worked as a carpenter apprentice for Anthony Walraff at Timber Roots Construction and was very grateful for Anthony's wisdom, knowledge and patience in guiding and teaching him carpentry. He treasured his work and the opportunity to grow in his craft, but most of all, he was honored to call Anthony, Alexis and their children his family as well.

He and Jakson grew up very close to their cousins and he shared an individual bond with each one of them. Each relationship was truly unique, and he dearly loved them as if they were siblings. He had a particularly strong bond with his cousin, Willie Carrion, and the two spent a lot of time together outdoors.

Kaleb was passionate, patient and kind and will be remembered as a gentle giant. His blue/green eyes were captivating and his infectious smile would light up the room. When he embraced you, it felt like you were hugging a teddy bear. Kaleb's impact on so many people's lives is astounding, and he will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him.

Kaleb showed no fear. His life was short, and he lived it to the fullest!

He is survived by his twin brother, womb mate, other half, Jakson Lee Parrish; his little sister, Addison Rose Parrish; father, Darrell Wayne Parrish lll; mother, Laura McKay; step-father, Gerald McKay; stepsister, Jadyn McKay; paternal grandparents, Darrell Wayne Parrish ll and Pat Parrish, Jeannie Parrish and Fred Sockey; maternal grandparents, Tito and Sharon Carrion, Kathy Mattei and Stanley Goff; Aunt Beth Lambert and cousins, Brandon Lambert (Erica) and Cody Lambert; Aunt Alysia Creel (John) and cousins Cailyn Malone and Teagan Sparling; Aunt Brandi Parrish (Andreas); Aunt Nicole Ariail (Mark) and cousins Zach, Nick, Christian and Ali Claire Ariail; Uncle Jason Carrion (Christi) and cousins, Jadyn and Jarod Carrion and Raigne Kirton (Cody); Uncle Jonathan Berry and cousins Will, Sam and Megan Berry; bonus cousins, Micah and Shiloh Ward, numerous great-aunts and great-uncles and extended family; and his girlfriend, Gabby Cash-Bouchillon.
