Kate Huffstetler Forbis 94 formerly of First St. Newberry died Thursday February 11 2010 at White Oak Manor.Born in Kings Mountain NC on December 16 1915 she was the daughter of the late Erskine C. and Minnie Reynolds Huffstetler. She was a retired employee the Kendall Co. Oakland Plant and she worked for the Newberry County Council on Aging. She was a member of Lewis United Methodist Church. Mrs. Forbis is survived by 3 sons Douglas R. Forbis (Sarah) of Pauline Robert L. Forbis of Newberry and Phillip M. Forbis (Joyce) of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert S. Forbis; a brother Enos Huffstetler; and a daughter-in-law Peggy D. Forbis.Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kathy Harris. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M prior to the service on Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry.The family was at the home of Mark and Connie Kesler 84 Harold Bowers Road Newberry SC.Pallbearers were Randy Forbis Bobby Gunter Jamie Langley Ronnie Dickert Danny Dickert and Mark Kesler.Memorials are suggested to Lewis United Methodist Church 1105 First Street Newberry S.C. 29108 or to the Hospice Care of Tri County 13795 C.R.
