Katherine "Kat" Q. Brabham, 96, of Chapin, died Monday, December 3, 2018.
Born on March 3, 1922 in Williston, she was a daughter of the late E. Dess and Katherine Elliott Quattlebaum.
Mrs. Brabham was a charter member of Chapin Baptist Church. She worked at the Women's Correctional Center in Columbia for 20 years, in addition to being a wife and mother.
Kat enjoyed bowling and flower gardening, and was known as a very compassionate person who would help anyone in need.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Robert Brabham (Nora) of Irmo and Ann Brabham Cannon (Roy) of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Marie Cannon Fulmer (Rusty), Melanie Cannon Zobel (Charlie), Beth Burnett (Kirk), Christy Smith (Judd), and Robert Brabham (Kim); great- grandchildren, Tyler Zobel, Katie Zobel, Brett Burnett, Blaine Burnett, Rawson Brabham, Sullivan Brabham, Summer Fulmer, and Jr Fulmer; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece and nephew, Judy Clark and Gene Rhoad.
She was predeceased by her husband, E.M. "Buster" Brabham; and siblings, Jeanette Rhoad, Anita Peeples, Tiele Starr, Veran Quattlebaum, Elliott Quattlebaum, and Gene Quattlebaum.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Thursday at Chapin Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Philip Vaughn. The family will receive friends following the service in the church.
Honorary pallbearers will be the XYZ Sunday School Class at Eau Claire Church.
