Kathleen Castor Fesperman 94 of Newberry SC died at home on February 27 2015 after a lengthy illness. Funeral Services will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Monday March 2 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation to follow immediately after in the fellowship hall. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on March 2 2015 at Organ Lutheran Church Cemetery in Salisbury NC. The family requests donations be made to the Francis I. Fesperman Scholarship Fund at Newberry College 2100 College St. Newberry SC 29108 or Hospice Care of Tri-County 13795 C. R. Koon Highway Newberry SC 29108. She was born to the late Henry and Anna Basinger Castor on September 11 1920 in Cabarrus County NC and graduated from China Grove High School in NC. Mrs. Fesperman obtained a business degree from Lenoir-Rhyne College and a BA degree from Newberry College in 1963. She attained a Masters degree in Library Science from George Peabody College for Teachers in 1964. She was a librarian for Newberry College and later was a teacher/librarian for the Newberry County Public School System. Upon retirement she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Fesperman was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and the couples Sunday school class. She was active in the Lutheran Church Women and served several years as President of the Miriam Circle. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Dr. Francis I. Fesperman; a brother Lester Castor; two sisters Helen Overcash and Margaret Funderburk; a son-in-law Raymond Marky. She is survived by her two children Martha Marky of Tallahassee FL and Paul (Gayle) Fesperman of Duncan SC; two grandsons Ray III (Betty) and Bob (Millie) Marky a granddaughter Angela Marky Loscialo (Frank) and great-grandson Blaine Marky all of Tallahassee FL; a brother Clarence (Phyl) Castor of Rockwell NC; a sister Sylvia (Ken) Shue of Greensboro NC; sister-in-law Kathleen Shive Fesperman and a brother-in-law Bill Fesperman (Ginny) of Huntersville NC as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to the staff of Angel Care especially Elaine Cromer for the loving care provided to Miss Kathleen over the years as well as the staff of Tri-County Hospice.
