Katie Rushton Connelly 93 formerly of 2625 Deloache Ave Newberry widow of Hugh H. Buck Connelly died Friday January 25 2013 at the J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services were conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday January 29 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by The Rev. Dr. Mitchell Van Metre. Visitation was from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at Whitaker Funeral Home Newberry. Mrs. Connelly was born on October 9 1919 in Saluda County a daughter of the late Arthur Isaiah and Marie Houge Rushton. She was a member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church the Neil Truesdell Sunday School Class and Circle 3. She was also a member of the Presidents Club for Hardees/Spartan Foods while working for Hardees and particularly enjoyed her time working the morning shift. She is survived by a daughter Nancy Connelly Holcombe of Greer; a son Arthur R. (Jeanne Wallace) Connelly of Greenville; grandchildren Sara I. Salli Holcombe and Elizabeth B. Connelly; special niece Lillian Elizabeth (Lamar) Storey of Grovetown GA; special cousins Ida Lou R. Jones and Mary Ann (Joe) Crawford all of Saluda; and dear friends The Doyle Gallman Sr. family Junior and Janie Harrington and Trey and Jennifer Riddle.
