Kenneth Wayne Baldwin, 80, of Prosperity, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. He fought a courageous battle against cancer, but nothing could dim his spirit or that wonderful smile of his. Born on June 20, 1938 in Union, he was a son of the late Roy and Grace Wade Baldwin. Ken was formerly from Union and moved to Newberry where he and his wife lived for 35 years. He retired from Cone Mills in Carlisle, S.C. where he was the office manager. After his retirement, he opened B & B Florist and Gifts in Newberry and was there for 24 years. Ken was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed "piddling" in his yard. He is survived by his daughter, Brandy Leigh Crocker and her husband John Davenport of Prosperity; nephews and their spouses, Greg and Suzanne Baldwin, Randy Baldwin, Chris and Melissa Baldwin all of Orlando, FL and Brian Crocker of Union; sister-in-law, Sandra Baldwin of Orlando, FL; brother-in-law and his wife, Harold David Crocker and Sandra of Union; and five great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ernestine Hart Baldwin and a brother, Larry Baldwin. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Kierstead. Entombment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Brent O'Shields, Roger Wade, Ronnie Wade, Terry Wade, Lynn Wade and Joe Wade. Honorary pallbearers will be his staff at B&B Florists: Craig Vice, Rosa Bundrick, Polly Doolittle, and Shelby Seibert.
