Laura Pardue Knight 92 of 938 Mt. Bethel Garmany Road Newberry widow of Callie E. Knight died Thursday September 23 2010 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Lancaster on November 3 1917 she was a daughter of the late James Jim H. and Addie Jane McCorkle Pardue. Mrs. Knight retired from Old School Manufacturing and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Donald and Linda Knight of Newberry; 4 daughters and a son-in-law Nathaline Riddle Vivian Kesler Vonnie and Roger Trammell and Connie Cannon all of Newberry; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Knight was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by a grandson Danny Kesler 2 sisters and 8 brothers. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday at Bethany Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery Springdale Section. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Memorials are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Church 2704 Nance St. Newberry SC 29108.Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.Whitaker Funeral Home of Newberry is assisting the family.
