Laura S. Severt 98 of Chapin SC and formerly of Springfield OH died Tuesday November 8 2011 at her residence. She was born on April 2 1913 in Floyd County KY a daughter of the late John and Minda Salyers of Wayland KY. Mrs. Severt taught school for over 45 years and was active in managing the family farms in Ohio and Kentucky. Throughout her life she maintained her love of teaching and a strong sense of humor. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Rosalind Severt of Chapin; grandson Brett A. Severt of Chapin; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul C. Severt of Springfield OH; brothers John Gordon Salyers of Ironton OH and Homer Salyers of S. Charleston OH; sisters Hester Rice of Wayland KY and Tommie Mae Jackson of S. Charleston OH. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 AM Saturday November 12 2011 at the Jackson Lytle Lewis Funeral Home in Springfield OH. Private interment was in Rose Hill Burial Park in Springfield OH.
